A TEST AND MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENT HAVING TELECOMMUNICATIONS MASK TESTING CAPABILITY WITH A MASK ZOOM FEATURE

PURPOSE: To re-position a waveform under test in the horizontal and vertical directions with keeping the relative positional relation between a mask and the waveform, and enlarge the mask and the waveform to conduct the proximity test. CONSTITUTION: A take-in circuit(110) takes in a plurality of samples of a waveform, a controller(130) generates mask pixel data defining a mask, a raster memory(150) stores the samples of waveform and the mask pixel data, a rasterizer(140) reads the data from the storing areas of the master memory to combine the samples of waveform and writes the combination result on storing areas of the memory(150), a display(190) indicates the mask and the waveform, and input means(131¯134) adjust the position and scale of the waveform on the display. If either the position or scale is changed, the positional relation between the waveform and the mask is held on the display.
