APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR VERIFYING/RESTORING CONNECTION MANAGEMENT INFORMATION OF MANAGEMENT-SUBJECT SYSTEM IN NETWORK MANAGING SYSTEM OF TMN CONCEPT

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for verifying/restoring connection management information of a management-subject system in a network managing system of TMN concept are provided to perform an effective and reliable network management by verifying that connection management information between a management-subject system performing a network construction factor hierarchy function and a managing system performing a network factor management hierarchy function are identical to each other and restoring the management-subject system connection management information on the basis of the connection management information of the management system where inconsistency has occurred. CONSTITUTION: General network management functions are performed(S401). When a command for verifying/restoring management information of an operator interface is received or a failure of a management-subject system is informed(S402), a connection management information verifying/restoring unit searches every atmCrossConnection(xCon) management object from the management-subject system(MIB)(S403). Every atmSubnetwork Connection(SNC) management object belonging to a subnetowrk(SNW) is searched from the management-subject system(MIB)(S404). A DN of xCon searched from the management-subject object and a DN(Distinguished Name) stored in a subObjectPointer(sOP) attribute of the SNC are compared(S405). If xCon does not exist in the management-subject system though DN has been assigned in the sOP of the management system(SNC), atmNetworkCTP(nwCTP) management object of an a/z terminating point is searched by using the relation between the SNC and the nwCTP subObjectPointer(DN)(S406). It is checked whether a vp/vcCTPBidirectional(CTP) management object exists in the management-subject system(S407,S408). If a CTP exists, connection set-up information is formed by using the DN of the CTP(S409), otherwise, connection set-up information is formed by using a nwCTP port, id information and traffic characteristic information(S410). A connection is set up to the management-subject system and its result is reflect for corresponding management information(S411). If xCon exists only in the management-subject system and there is no connection information in the management system, the corresponding CIP of the management-subject system is searched(S412), and the connection is deleted in the management-subject system(S413).
