PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for cleansing a source table for the construction of a traffic data warehouse is provided to efficiently manage the cleansing work of various source tables and to increase the reliability of cleansing work. CONSTITUTION: A table name input part(10) inputs the name of a database table, of which the cleansing work is required, and allows a wild card character(*). A table name translation and function calling part(12) translates the table name inputted by the table name input part(10) and calls a function to make out the SQL(Structured Query Language) sentence executing the cleansing work of the table. An SQL sentence preparation part(14) makes out the SQL(Structured Query Language) sentence executing the cleansing work of the table, based on the function called by the table name translation and function calling part(12). An SQL sentence execution part(16) executes the SQL sentence prepared in the SQL sentence preparation part(14).
