APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING AMOUNT OF COAL LOADED WITHIN COKES OVEN

PURPOSE: An apparatus for determining amount of coal is provided to ensure safety of workers by mechanically determining the amount of coal loaded within cokes oven regardless of internal conditions of the oven including temperature, pressure, internal convection state. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a wire rope (27) having a weight (28); a drum (12) wound with the rope (27); an electric motor (11) to drive the drum; a counter wheel (15) adjacent to the rope (27) and rotating correspond with the movement of the rope (27); a controller part to calculate amount of coal loaded within the cokes oven by utilizing circumference and revolution numbers of the wheel (15) according to a mathematical equation (eq.: amount of coal="( (length from bottom side of the cokes oven to the determination apparatus)-(circumference x revolution numbers) ) x area of the cokes oven); and a housing (21) located at top of a loading hole to receive the wire rope (27), the drum (12), the electric motor (11) and the wheel (15).
