PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring shape and speed of the crop of a hot bar using a line scan type CCD sensor is provided to prevent surface defects of products, thereby improving quality and productivity by simultaneously and accurately measuring the shape and speed of the crop of the hot bar using a line scan type CCD sensor. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a line scan type CCD camera in which a line scan type CCD sensor is built-in, and to which a wide-gap lens and a line scan type CCD sensor driving circuit periodically generating driving signals of the line scan type CCD sensor are mounted; a line scan type CCD camera head part (20) in which a plurality of line scan type CCD cameras are installed in a set distance in the state that a field of vision of the line scan type CCD camera is conformed to an advancing direction of a hot bar (1); a signal processing part (30) comprising a multi-channel A/D converter (32) converting analog signals from each of a plurality of line scan type CCD cameras of the line scan type CCD camera head part (20) into digital data, and a central processing unit (31) calculating transfer distance and transfer velocity of the front end of the hot bar (1) and transfer distance and transfer velocity of the rear end of the hot bar (1) according to a preset mathematical expression using data from the A/D converter (32), and determining the optimum cutting position of crops of the front and rear ends of the hot bar (1) based on the calculated values; and a program logic controller (14) controlling action of a crop cutter (4) according to signals from the signal processing part (30).
