Method for video encoding including intra update based on the estimated error probabilities using the size of bitstream for each block

PURPOSE: A method is provided to maximize an effect of intra updating by using size information of bit stream created at each block in an image encoding process to thereby selecting a block needed for the intra updating. CONSTITUTION: An encoding approach is selected for each frame of an inputted image wherein the inputted image is divided into a certain size of block. A screen-inter block encoding or a screen-intra encoding is performed according to an encoding approach for a current frame, a screen-inter encoding requirement and intra updating block, wherein the block needed for the intra updating is selected through the use of the size information of the bit stream created at each block. The above processes are repeatedly until a final frame is processed. The process of the screen-inter block encoding or the screen-intra encoding includes determining the encoding approach for the current frame, performing selectively the screen-inter block encoding or the screen-intra encoding, and alternatively performing the screen-inter block encoding or the screen-intra encoding according to requirements of a screen-inter block encoding.
