FREQUENCY LIST USING A PLURALITY OF BASIC FREQUENCIES AND BIT MAPS USED IN EUROPEAN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A frequency list using a plurality of basic frequencies and bit maps used in an European mobile communication system is provided to embody a frequency list used in an European mobile communication system in order to increase the efficiency of system resources. CONSTITUTION: 1 bit in octet 3, 8 bits in octet 4 and 1 bit in octet 5 indicate a basic frequency(ArfcnA). From 7 bits in octet 5 to 3 bits in octet 6, 'N' numbers of bit maps are located. Each bit number indicates the frequency of a distance apart from the basic frequency(ArfcnA) as much as the number. For example, 1 bit is separated from the basic frequency(ArfcnA), it indicates a frequency of ArfcnA+1. At the next of the Nth bit map, 10 bits are located again, which means the second basic frequency(ArfcnB). As 'N' numbers of bit maps are shown at the next of the first basic frequency(ArfcnA), so are 'N' numbers of bit maps shown at the next of the second basic frequency(ArfcnB).
