A piston located within the housing, separating the housing into first and second chambers filled with hydraulic fluid, the first and second chambers being connected to each other through a throttle position, with respect to the housing upon relative movement of the piston. The volume ratios of the first and second chambers are varied to provide variable attenuation over the entire crankshaft rotation range. The throttle position consists of at least one annular gap 22 and is comprised of an electrical rheological fluid and / or magnetic rheology in the first chamber and the second chamber 16 ′, 16 ″ and in the at least one annular gap 22.
