PURPOSE: A method for providing billing information to mobile subscribers using SMSs(Short Message Services) is provided to transmit billing information to the character display unit of a subscriber terminal from a mobile communication service provider's billing information database by SMS, in case that the subscriber selects and requests a billing information inquiry service at a desired time. CONSTITUTION: A mobile subscriber selects a billing information inquiry service by a menu selection method and transmits a billing information request message to a billing information processing server through a BTS, a BSC, a PCX/VLR, and an SMC(510). The billing information processing server requests a billing information provision unit to send the requested billing information inquiry service(520). The billing information provision unit extracts billing information data by searching a database for the subscriber's billing information and transmits the extracted data to the billing information processing server(530). The billing information processing server transmits the data provided from the billing information provision unit to the subscriber's mobile terminal through the PCX/VLR, the BSC and the BTS in the form of a short message(540). The subscriber terminal receives the billing information data and displays them through a character display unit(550).
