PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a microbending long-period fiber grating is provided to control a center wavelength of an absorption band by changing a grating period according to an angle between periodical arranged graphite rods and an optical fiber loaded thereon. CONSTITUTION: A multitude of graphite rod(4) with a constant diameter is arranged on a plate(5) according to a predetermined interval. An optical fiber(1) is loaded on the plate(5). A microbending is formed on a core of the optical fiber(1) by stress(2). An absorption band is formed in a transmission spectrum by coupling a core mode and a cladding mode in a particular wavelength adapted for a phase matching condition. A microbending long-period fiber grating for controlling a center wavelength of the absorption band is formed by changing a grating period according to an angle between the periodical arranged graphite rods(4) and the optical fiber(1) loaded thereon.
