PURPOSE: A cladding EDFA(Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) using long-period fiber grating pair is provided to perform an amplification process on a cladding with a large sectional area by using a long-period fiber grating pair. CONSTITUTION: A long-period fiber grating pair is formed by arranging serially two long-period fiber gratings on an erbium doped fiber cladding(2). A resonant wavelength for coupling a core mode and a cladding mode corresponds to a wavelength of a signal light source(5) by satisfying a phase matching condition of the long-period fiber gratings. The signal light source(5) is coupled with the cladding mode by the first long-period fiber grating when the signal light source(5) is irradiated to a core(1) and a pump light source(4) is irradiated to the cladding(2). The core mode is coupled with the cladding mode by the second long-period fiber grating. The amplified light is concentrated to the core(1).
