摘要

PURPOSE: A dispersion control optical fiber preform and manufacturing method thereof using a modified chemical vapor deposition is provided to make an optical fiber having a positive and a negative variance value to the chromatic dispersion of a fiber distribution according to a transmission wavelength by drawing a preform with a constant diameter. CONSTITUTION: A core and a clad with a positive variance value and a fiber refractive index distribution are uniformly deposited on the inner of a glass tube. An optical fiber preform with a positive variance value is heated during a predetermined period. The heated portion of the optical fiber preform has a negative variance value through an etching process. The optical fiber preform is collapsed to have an alternately arranged portion of the positive and negative variance values.
