Use of Horseradi sh Essential Oil for Stored-Product Insect-Control Agent

PURPOSE: Provided is horseradish oil of which active ingredients are highly volatile, thus which shows excellent vermicidal activity through fumigation. CONSTITUTION: The horseradish oil has vermicidal effect on Lepidoptera, Plodia interpunctella(Hubner) larva, Lasioderma serricorne(Fabricius) imago belonging to Coleoptera, Sitopholis oryzae(L.) imago, Callosobruchus chinensis(L.) imago, and Attagenus japonicus Reitter. Particularly, horseradish oil is prepared by hydrothermal extraction or supercritical extraction.The horseradish oil can be dissolved in an organic solvent selected from methanol, hexene, acetone, ethanol or dichloromethane.
