PURPOSE: A flow resistance reduction structure for turbo compressor is provided to achieve improved efficiency of compressor by minimizing the refrigerant flow resistance and pressure loss caused by the flow resistance. CONSTITUTION: A turbo compressor comprises a closed container(100) including suction pipes(P1,P2) connected to a motor chamber(130) communicated to a first compression chamber(110) communicated to a second compression chamber(120); a driving motor(200) mounted in the motor chamber; a driving shaft(300) coupled to a rotor(220) of the driving motor; and first and second impellers(400,500) fixed to both ends of the driving shaft. The motor chamber has refrigerant inlet through holes(131a,131b) formed at both sides of the driving motor in such a manner that refrigerant inlet through holes are communicated to suction pipes of the closed container. The motor chamber has refrigerant outlet through holes(132a,132b) formed to be opposed to the refrigerant inlet through holes. Thus, the refrigerant gas introduced into the motor chamber is partially discharged into the compression chamber without passing through the air gap of the driving motor.
