PURPOSE: A method of removing nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater and sewage using rotating biological contactor is provided, in which separated sludge is further treated to use as a soil conditioner via composting process. CONSTITUTION: The system of the invention comprises a screen(1); a grit chamber(2) and a sedimentation tank(3) for eliminating debris and grit from influent wastewater; a rotating biological contactor(4) in which hydraulic loading is 150L/m¬2· day, organic loading is 15g-BOD/m¬2·day, hydraulic retention time is at least 2 hours and F/M ratio is 0.06-0.1; an intermediate clarifier(5) for solid/liquid separation; a rotating biological contactor(6) for denitrification in which as adding three times of methanol to unit nitrogen concentration, hydraulic loading is maintained to 600L/m¬2· day and nitrogen loading is maintained to NO3-N3/m¬2·day; injection of polymer and Al2(SO4)3 for pre phosphorus removal; coagulation basin(7); final clarifier(8) for solid/liquid separation; and disinfection basin(9).
