METHOD FOR INHERITING INHERITABLE DATA IN OBJECT-ORIENTED SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An inheritable data inheriting method is provided to divide a hierarchical class structure into a plurality of sub trees, to inherit the inheritable data within the sub tree by the IOF(Inherit On Fetch) method and to inherit the inheritable data between the sub trees by the IOS(Inherit On Store) method so that it can solve a process speed and a memory size problem. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of dividing a hierarchical data structure into a plurality of sub classes, generating inheritable data for each sub class, and simultaneously performing the IOF and IOS inheritance. For example, in the case of inheriting inheritable data from a class of person to a class of employee and a class of teacher by using the IOS inheritance method, the class of person has an attribute of name, and no inherited data. The class of person stores the inheritable attribute, namely the attribute of name, at an inheritable storage in advance. The class of employee is a lower class of the class of person, has attributes of educational institute and pay, and the attribute of name inherited from the class of person. The class of the employee inherits values of name, educational institute and pay to the class of teacher. The class of teacher inherits the values of name, educational institute and pay from the class of employee, and stores inheritable values of name, educational institute, pay and position at an inheritable storage in advance.
