METHOD FOR OPERATING SERIAL PORT USING PRINTER BUFFER IN RISC OPERATING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for operating a serial port using a printer buffer is provided to operate two serial ports without modifying a RISC operating system by using a printer buffer of the RISC operating system. CONSTITUTION: In a serial port comprising a serial port hardware initialization module for charging an initialization of a serial port hardware and a registration of an interrupt service routine, a character transmission module for charging a transmission of a character through a serial port hardware, a character receiving module for charging a receipt of a character through the serial port hardware, an interrupt service module for processing an interrupt being generated from the serial port hardware in a character transmitting/receiving mode, and a risk operating system printer buffer, the serial port hardware is initialized by enabling two serial ports and recording a forming table of the serial port in a serial port for initializing a serial port hardware adapted to a transmission/receipt of a character(101). A default value of a serial port parameter is set by recording a parameter related to a protocol in the serial port at transmitting/receiving a character(102). An interrupt service routine for processing an interrupt being generated at the character transmitting/receiving process through the serial port is registered(103). A serial port interrupt is enabled for generating an interrupt when a character is transmitted/received through the serial port(104).
