SOLIDIFICATION/STABILIZATION OF INORGANIC WASTE SLUDGE AND METHOD FOR COMPACTING SOLIDIFIED SLUDGE

PURPOSE: A solidification/stabilization method of hazardous waste sludge generated from plating industries is provided to prevent toxic constituents such as heavy metals from releasing out of solidified matrix. CONSTITUTION: Then method includes the steps of (i) partially drying wet plating sludge until its moisture content reach 40%; (ii) adjusting the particle size of dried plating sludge to 2-5mm; (iii) blending cement, sludge and water in such manners that the weight ratio of cement/sludge is 0.75-1, the weight ratio of water/cement is 1-1.25, the weight ratio of water/solid portion is 0.4-0.5; and (iv) curing.
