FIELD: methods and plants for sewage water treatment with use of activated sludge in suspension state. SUBSTANCE: sewage waters are supplied to equalizing reservoir of treatment plant and transferred to activation reservoir. From activation reservoir, sewage waters are fed to secondary settler and from it, after settling of residual sludge, they are directed to discharge hole. When level of sewage waters in equalizing reservoir lowers below preset minimal level, process of activation is interrupted and excessive sludge is transferred from activation reservoir. Activation process is renewed when level of sewage waters in equalizing reservoir exceeds the preset level, and transfer of sludge is discontinued. EFFECT: efficient operation at nonuniform inflow of sewage waters with preserved high purification capacity. 3 cl, 3 dwg
