FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, more particularly complex processing of copper-sulfide ores and/or concentrates. SUBSTANCE: method comprises sulfate roasting said ores and/or concentrates in inert gas, leaching cinder with aqueous acid solution and extracting copper from solution. Crushed stock is roasted in nitrogen current at 850-950, and sulfur carried away by nitrogen current is condensed by cooling. Method allows removing as much as possible sulfur from ores and/or concentrates during roasting operation, increasing degree of copper recovery during leaching operation reducing as much as possible evolution of sulfur oxides which pollute environment.
