The battery booster of the jump leads type for use in starting vehicles when their battery is discharged comprises a container enclosing a battery, an electronic circuit, a fuse, a charge level indicator and negative and positive clamps with swan neck formation. The clamps can be put away in locations incorporated in the container. The locations for the clamps are such that the clamps are protected in complete safety, thus avoiding any short-circuit which their contact with each other might cause. The charge level indicator is composed of several light-emitting diodes, activated by a button.
