Device for the reception of poisonous baits for underground eating harmful rodents

The apparatus is used for setting out poisoned bait to get rid of burrowing rodents, e.g. moles which cause harm to crops and roots of young trees etc. The apparatus consists of a thin-walled cylinder (1) which has a flat lid (3) fitted onto its straight top edge. There is a loop (4) forming a handle on top of the lid and there are several hooks (6) which may hold pieces of poisoned apple (8) etc. The lid has a downwardly-extending flange (7) which engages concentrically just inside the cylinder. The cylinder is driven down into the earth (10), so that it intersects a burrow (9) made by the offending animals, and the earth inside is removed down to the level of the bottom edge of the cylinder. There are cutouts (2) in the lower edge of the cylinder which allow access to the interior from the burrow, and there is an outward-extending flange (5) at the top, limiting the depth to which the cylinder is driven into the ground.
