A method for estimation of channel coefficients and adaptive filter for time-varying channels

The estimation system compares the received data (z) with the comparison data (y) modelled on the received data, to provide the error values (e) to be fed to a channel coefficient estimator (CE). This determines the channel coefficients corresponding to the min. error values. The channel coefficients are provided by combining an offset value (R), corresponding to the correlation between a number of coefficients, with an individual value (W) for each coefficient. The modelling of the comparison data is effected using the coefficients obtained.
