The air volume control method calculates a minimum fresh air volume in dependence on a limit value for the concentration of exhaust gases in the passenger space and calculates the temperature of the air to be supplied to the passenger space in dependence on the difference between the actual and the required air temperature, to determine the heating requirement, used for regulating the volumetric ratio of fresh air and recycled air.
