The carrier beam (10.1) for the floor of a freight truck has a rectangular cross section. It is a plywood, with vertical glue layers, and a center wood cross section zone. It is reinforced by metal U-shaped bars (3), where the base (13) forming the lateral member of the U-shape fits flush into a recess at the base of the carrier beam and across its width. The assembly is formed into a module (100) for the truck floor.
