The method involves measuring at least one parameter enabling conclusions to be drawn about the flow field (15) by monitoring at least one flame (10) in the combustion chamber (12)``. The flow field is determined based on the measurement values. A permissible measurement range is defined for each parameter with an upper and/or lower limit. Values outside the range are not taken into account when determining the flow field.
