Inducing and maintaining lucid dream state, uses stimulus response for testing state of consciousness, psychological conditioning and generating lucidity

An awake person is given sensual stimuli in order to trigger a stimulus response to test their state of consciousness and to psychologically condition the person. Further stimuli are provided to the sleeping person at a level not sufficient to wake the person up, in order to trigger the same stimulus response and generate and/or maintain a lucid dream state. The person is given the opportunity to realise that they are awake if there is a successful change in consciousness state, and that they are dreaming if this change is unsuccessful. An Independent claim is also included for the apparatus used, comprising a stimulus generator, a control unit for ensuring the stimuli are maintained at a level not sufficient to wake the person up, and at least input device connected to the stimulus generator.
