An optical axis (50) for a video tachymeter is marked out by a point (P) in the lens space, by a lens principal point (52) in a telescopic lens (53) and by the optical axis' piercing point (P') through the CCD matrix. This piercing point has coordinates in the CCD matrix coordinate system.
