The material has at least two connected layers arranged one above the other, each consisting of rod-shaped bearer elements (1,2) arranged at a distance and parallel to or angled with respect to each other. The ends of the bearer elements are connected to those of other bearer elements or to the sound radiating element when installed. Connected bearer elements form node points (3) in and/or between nodes and the bearer element material is plastic, plasto-elastic or elastic.
