The foot space (1) has a footrest (13), which pivots between a storage position against the base (9) of the dashboard, where it is out of the way, and a use position extending into the foot space. The footrest supports the foot or shoe (16) of the passenger (15) above the floor of the vehicle. An opening (11) integrated in the dashboard base communicates with an air-conditioning unit (6) and the foot space. The foot support is positioned in the foot space so that air flows through the opening from the air-conditioning unit onto the foot or shoe, to dry it.
