A separating or rectifying column has both dual-flow- and hydraulically-sealed crossflow-plates. An Independent claim is also included for a process using such a column in fractionally condensing an acrylic acid-containing gas mixture obtained by heterogeneously-catalyzed, gas phase partial oxidation of C3 precursors of acrylic acid with molecular oxygen (see also WO200053560).
