Procedure in which the dynamic signal (FS) of a level indicator or float is recorded and compared with the speed (V) of a vehicle supplied from a tachometer. From the comparison conclusions can be made as to whether the sensor is operating correctly and a threshold value is repeatedly crossed or if incorrectly i.e. the threshold value is not crossed and the float dynamic signal remains constant.
