Stable 1-part, at least 2-phase color developer concentrate containing antioxidant, anti-lime agent, buffer and alkali has an aqueous phase with pH = 9 and organic phase(s) containing: (a) water-soluble solvent(s) selected from (poly)glycols, alkanolamines, aliphatic and cyclic monoalcohols; (b) benzyl alcohol or a 3-10 carbon polyalcohol with 2-10 hydroxyl groups, with a total of 50-95 wt.% water; in the ratio 0.01-4 mole (b)/l (a). The color developer concentrate contains a total of 50-95, preferably 60-90 wt.% water and other solvents.
