The monitoring method involves determining and/or evaluating the potential on at least one power connection of the semiconducting switch (140) in synchronism with the clock. The switch is operated using pulse width modulation and the potential can be determined on two power connections. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for monitoring electrical parameters of a d.c. electric motor for brake regulation.
