The circuit detects the loudspeaker (LS) coil deflections using the integrated electrodynamic voltage values and influences a drive signal depending on a deflection signal (A) thus formed. The deflection signal is compared with a defined threshold value (GW) to detect if the threshold is exceeded, upon which this is extended in time and a reaction parameter (RG) formed with which the drive signal (AS) is reduced, to form an overload protection circuit and a distortion protection circuit. An Independent claim is also included for a loudspeaker protection circuit.
