The device has a fuel injection unit (2) and an air feed device (2'), which are coupled by a control unit, so that fuel is injected into a combustion chamber (1) during a first period, and an air jet is injected at a different time. The control unit is arranged so that fuel and air are introduced in at least three different periods, with at least one fuel jet during each period and an air jet after it. During the first period, between 5% and 25% of the fuel is supplied, between 25% and 50% during the second period, and between 25% and 70% during the third period. The air volume produced in one or the third period, is larger than in one of the other periods.
