The snoring prevention device has a head pillow (5) provided with a noise sensor for detecting snoring and activating a control unit which adjusts the position of the head of the sleeper by controlling movement of the pillow. The latter is divided into a number of chambers (1-4) which are filled with air, the control unit adjusting the air pressure within the chamber on which the head rests via a pressurized air source. The air chambers may be covered by a gel layer (9) on the side facing the sleeper.
