Computers are prone to being opened and the CMOS being reset, but a mechanical lock generally suffices as a first line of defence in this respect. To prevent computers being started without being correctly sanctioned, however, requires mechanical and electrical safety devices, together with an alarm and a signalling device, and all possibilities of external access must be restricted ( prevention of reset, keyboard blocked) and a monitored loop or camera control can be provided for additional security. The computer supply battery is fed from a constant current source. All mechanical protection components are sealed with polyurethane. The power-good line is switched off in the event of an alarm, and broken-wire interlock is through a logic circuit.
