A hydraulic obstacle for the protection of fish pond from animal-like vermin essentially consists of switch system, movement alarm, pressure device for water and pressure control device. Linear, star, mushroom or rotary jets (1) can be used selectively, separately or combined on, around, in and/or above the pond to be protected, to generate a one-, two- or three-dimensional curtain of flowing water. Animals approaching the pond to be protected penetrate the sensor field of a movement alarm and trigger a signal via this which activates the pressure device for water via the switch system.
