Degassing equipment for viscous fluids, especially resins, has flow plates inclined towards central stirrer shaft carrying blades

The degassing chamber (12) has one or more truncated conical flow plates (36) surrounding the stirrer shaft (24) and at a distance from the latter. The flow plates are inclined downwards towards the stirrer drive shaft which has blades (54) contacting fluid on the flow plates. An Independent claim is made for a process for storing and/or degassing viscous fluids in which resin is fed into an evacuated chamber(12) and the stirrer blades are rotated at three different speeds during contact with the resin. The first speed produces a centrifugal force which keeps the fluid in the chamber, the second speed allows part of the fluid to leave and a third speed enables all fluid to leave via a lower outlet(16).
