The adjustable armrests in a vehicle seat, and especially a freight truck, has an armrest (1) mounted to swing at both ends on a common plane. The trailing end is at the seat backrest and the leading end is fitted to the leading end of the seat frame through a swing lever (6). The armrest trailing end swings on a linear guide. The leading swing lever (6) pivots on a swivel joint (7,8) against the armrest (1) and the seat frame. The swing movement of the lever (6) around the axis of the seat frame swivel joint (8), towards the backrest, pitches the rear end of the armrest (1) upwards and the front end downwards.
