The fog lamp has an incandescent lamp and a circuit that supplies the lamp with a voltage when detecting an actuating signal. The circuit is connected to a position sensor that delivers a signal representing the height of the fog lamp to the circuit. The sensor is part of a level regulating arrangement. An Independent claim is also included for a method of driving a fog lamp.
