The actuator includes a driven device (18) which is moved by a drive (12), to exert an output force (FA) for the unit (14) to be operated, and receive a reaction force (FR). A force transmission/assistance device (16) creates an operative connection between the drive and the driven device. The force transmission/assistance device is designed to vary the output force from the drive based on the size of the reaction force.
