A supporting firing occurs at a methane concentration of less than 6 vol.%, and with a concentration of 4-6 vol.% combustion is carried out without supporting firing and with the introduction of process heat via the fresh air (up to 600 deg C) while maintaining the operational temperature at 850 deg C.
