The double-clutch gearbox (10) has a drive take-off shaft (12) which is coupled to 2 parallel drive delivery shafts (V1,V2), via switched couplings (K1-K6), in dependence on the selected gear ratio. A central synchronisation device (60) with a differential drive (62) employing 3 relatively rotatable components (R1,R2,R3) is provided for at least one of the gears, coupled to a drive source (88) which is separate from the vehicle engine (50), e.g. an electric motor.
