Independent front wheel suspension for heavy vehicles has telescopic wheel guide where spring damper forces are taken up by separate spring damper combination with elastic bearing for upper attachment point of guide member
The wheel support (6) is held through an upright telescopically length-adjustable guide member (13) which also supports a spring damper unit which is formed by a spring damper combination (12) with dampers (14) associated with the spring element (20). The upper attachment point (26) of the guide member is formed as an elastic bearing (26) which is hard in the transverse direction and soft in the axial direction. The spring element can be an air spring (20) or a steel spring. The spring damper combination preferably forms the sole support for the vertical forces which are to be taken up by the wheel suspension.
