The method involves heating the steel of the mast to a temp. of no higher than 250 degrees C by HF induction and finally removing the paint loosened by the heating as scales by scraping. A HF induction coil (1) is fitted with a temp. control unit with a contactless temp. sensor (5). An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for removing paint coatings on steel masts for high voltage overhead cables.
