The device has a controllable valve arrangement (12) in a fluid line (10), a sensor arrangement (14) in the fluid line for detecting the fluid flow rate in the line and a control circuit (16) for driving the valve open or closed and for comparing the detected flow quantity since a stoppage of flow with a predefined value and driving the valve closed if the defined value is reached.
