The defined simultaneous heat treatment of several sample containers (13) comprises inserting the containers into a metal block (1) with several openings (5) and heating the block using an electrical heater (8). The metal block is cooled at the end of a prescribed heating period by ducted cooling inside with heat exchange with a cooling fluid. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for the defined simultaneous heat treatment of several sample containers.
