The dryer consists of an axially turnable drum (10) with an intake at one end and a discharge at the other end. The drum jacket has several air extraction apertures (20) distributed at even relative distances in circumferential direction. The apertures are enclosed air-tight by one or more suction casings (22). Each aperture is at the same distance to the drum intake. The suction casing is stationary, and there are sealing elements between casing and drum.
